British Marine FederationFollowing a competitive tender RSS's MRS3 was chosen by the British Marine Federation (BMF) to provide a new system to bring together the multiple and unconnected systems which had built up over many years - once databases, distribution lists, Outlook lists, committee labels, Excel spreadsheets had been counted up there were over 100!

As a leading trade association, the BMF have several thousand members and also run training courses, seminars, exhibitions (including the London and Southampton Boat Shows) as well as inward and outward trade missions to foreign exhibitions.

The most complex requirement was the exhibition management due to the scale of the show (thousands of exhibitors), the many types of stand types, and the complex financial and contracting requirements that running an exhibition of this size entail.


BMF were the first RSS client to install MRS3 , and they were given a clean-sheet when making suggestions for functionality which they required.


BMF have multiple websites, and the WebNGen supports multiple websites with differing look-and-feel but with a single simple to use back-end Content Management System



RSS worked with BMF to develop their MRS3 to their requirements and developed bespoke functionality to support the complex business rules and MRS3 went live for the Southampton Boat Show in 2002 following which MRS3 has continued to develop and expand in terms of functionality.


Also since then RSS has continued to develop MRS3 at many other clients, and as new functionality is available it is incorporated into the core system and distributed to existing clients.


MRS3 is based around a solid "core" and from there is customised to the requirements of each client, often with little change but sometimes with entire bespoke sub-systems. MRS3 can therefore be both "off-the-shelf" and "bespoke" at the same time...

As well as efficiency savings, we estimate we've increased turnover by 10%, increased membership retention by a similar percentage, and built up the membership, all without additional staff numbers.


MRS3 is our CRM system, our Membership System, our Content Management System, and our Sales Ledger, and it has helped us be at the cutting edge of Association Management.
